How I Create My Hollywood Glam Style Waves

I’m constantly asked how I curl my hair so here’s a little video showing you all the steps I do when styling my hair from it’s air-dried natural state to hollywood glam style waves. I use the ghd Curve Classic Wave tool which is so easy to use - just wrap your hair around the barrel, hold and release. There’s no technique involved making it super quick and simple to get soft curls.

Brush and spray with head protectant

I brush through my hair to detangle and smooth before spraying my hair with ghd Unplugged Heat Protect Spray.

Straighten hair

I then straightening my hair using my ghd Platinum+ to make it smooth and sleek. I naturally have very thick and frizzy here so this step helps to keep it tamed.

Section hair

My hair is super thick so I’ll section it into 2-3 layers.

curl hair in small sections

Taking my ghd Curve Classic Wave Wand, I’ll wrap small sections of hair around the wand holding for 10 seconds. For my waves, I like to do them away from my face and do each half the same way. A glove is included when buying the styler so no need to worry about burning your hand.

finish

To finish, I’ll take a dressing brush to smooth out the top and my fringe before running my fingers through the end of my hair. For a hollywood glam look, I do a side part with my bangs as shown but otherwise I just leave it with a center part.
