To celebrate the launch of Killinchy Gold Dairy Free, I was invited along to experience New Zealand’s first Ice Cream Beauty Therapy Pop up! Killinchy Gold has teamed up with Spring Spa to create ‘The Beauty of Dairy Free’, a luxurious spa experience for lovers of beauty and ice cream!
The new Killinchy Gold Dairy Free range is the first ice cream in New Zealand to be made with oat milk and for thousands of years has also been used to nourish and repair the skin with its use becoming one the hottest trends in beauty.
The treatment is a vegan oat inspired wellbeing treatment inspired by the oats used in Killinchy Gold’s Dairy Free range. The treatment starts with a ritual using silky oat milk cleanses, softens and soothes the feet, followed by a warm rain shower, poured from their water pitchers. It’s then followed by a gentle scrub of vanilla and coconut blended with refined oat chips to buff away the old a reveal a new healthy glow. To finish it all off, you’re treated with a relaxing foot massage. Dreaaaamy!
I sampled each of the flavours while enjoying the treatment and was in heaven. The creaminess of the Killinchy Gold Dairy Free range was nothing like I had experienced before and would easily be the best dairy free ice creams I’ve ever had.
I’ve found with other dairy free alternatives on the market, they will use almond milk which gives more of an icy, sorbet texture. Others on the market will also use coconut substitutes and while the coconut gives it a more creamy texture, I often find the coconut flavour too overpowering. The new Killinchy Gold Dairy Free ice cream uses oats so has the creaminess without the strong taste which really showcases the flavours and will have you pleasantly surprised as it just tastes like normal ice cream.
The flavours in the new range will have you salivating from the names alone - Mint Chocolate, Chocolate Hokey Pokey, Strawberry & Boysenberry and Salted Caramel & Cashew. They are perfect for the summer and festive season! They’re available at all supermarkets nationwide with an RRP of $10.50 and I’d definitely recommend getting your hands on some. So delicious!
